Joe Lee Fulkerson

Joe Lee Fulkerson, 89, of Magan, passed away March 10, 2026 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital surrounded by loved ones. 

He was born July 6, 1936 to the late Willie Clay and Emma Evans Fulkerson. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Joe enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1954 and retired in 1976 as a Master Sergeant E7. During his service, he held the positions of recruiter, hospital registrar, and First Sergeant. After retiring, he farmed tobacco and cattle. He was an avid musician and Kentucky basketball fan.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Margaret Eileen Fulkerson; son David Lee Fulkerson; brothers Jim, Robert (Bob), and Estil Fulkerson; sister Merle Wortheam.

He is survived by his sons Craig (Markie) Fulkerson, PJ (Wanda) Fulkerson, and Jonathan (Rebecca) Fulkerson; grandchildren Magan, Caden, Ryan, David, and Elizabeth Fulkerson; brother Charles Fulkerson; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be held at 10am Saturday March 14, 2026 at St John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fordsville with burial to follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Magan. Visitation will be 2pm to 7pm Friday at Geary Funeral Home in Fordsville. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Magan Cemetery.
