Roger Day “RD” Snyder, 73 of Fordsville, KY passed on to his eternal home with Jesus Christ on December 24, 2025.
He was born on July 7, 1952, to the late Everett and Lucille Snyder. Roger became a Christian at a young age and held onto the promise of salvation throughout his life. He was a graduate of Fordsville High School. He was a member of the Boilermakers Local #40 and worked for many years at TVA. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, playing guitar and singing, and riding his Harley.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Joe Snyder, sister-in-law Bonnie Snyder and grandson Dailyn Matthews.
Roger is survived by his wife Penny Snyder; his daughters Jennifer Snyder of Fordsville, and Jessica Snyder-Smith of Owensboro; bonus daughters Brittiany Matthews and Rayven (Randall) Anderson of Owensboro; grandchildren Brittany (Tommy) Thomure, Jacob DeSensi, Laura Duncan (Trevor), Randi Smith, Matthew Smith, Layla Rice, Jayden Jones, Lily Reyes and Nicholas Reyes; great-grandchildren Gannon Pogue, Whitley Thomure and Lorelai Veach; sister Janice (Geary) Eaton of Owensboro, and brother Steve Snyder (Alex) of Fordsville.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the doctors, nurses and the infusion staff at Ohio County Hospital, as well as the doctors and nurses of the Step Down and Hospice units of Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at Geary Funeral Home in Fordsville with visitation from 11 a.m. until time of service. Boilermakers Local #40 will be doing Boilermaker rites prior to funeral service. Burial will follow the service at Newton Springs Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home.
