Ruby Jean Rice, 82, of Hartford, died Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at her home.  She was born in Bethany, Illinois to the late John and Annis Norris.  She was a homemaker and a member of Deanefield Baptist Church.  She was preceded also in death by her husband, Richard F. Rice; and a son, Richard Rice Jr.
    Survivors include a daughter, Robin (James) Murphy of Hartford; a son, Ray Allen (Jessie) Rice of Deanefield; a daughter-in-law, Angela Rice of Philpot; a sister, Cora Alice Kelley of Georgia; and six grandchildren.
    Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 17, 2024, at Geary Funeral Home with burial in Deanefield Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service Saturday at the funeral home.
