William Brownd

William E. “Bill” Brownd, 85, of Hartford, died Sunday, October 29, 2023, at Signature Healthcare of Hartford.  He was born in Owensboro to the late Ira and Iva Brownd.  He was retired from construction and was an Army veteran.  He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church, Centertown Masonic Lodge #714 and Laborers Union #1392.  He was preceded also in death by brothers, Cecil Brownd and Marvin Brownd; and sisters, Mildred Nantz and Anna Phelps.

     Survivors include his daughters, Lisa (Rod) Smith of Valparaiso, Indiana and Cheryl (Roy) Leath of Portage, Indiana; grandchildren, Sean (Nina Terry) Leath, Zachary (Annie) Leath and Caitlin Wadas; great-grandchildren, Mackenzee, Melanie, Charlie, Everly and a great-granddaughter due in March; sister, June McBride of Hartford; and his nephew who was his caretaker, Rudy (Robin) Phelps.

     Funeral services are 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at Geary Funeral Home  with burial in McCord Cemetery in Olaton.  Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
